A skill is an ability to perform an activity or action. It is often divided into three types: motor, cognitive and metacognitive skills.
Manual Control
The ability to control the airplane smoothly and efficiently to achieve the desired flight path within the defined parameters of performance.
Communication
The ability to transfer and receive information in an efficient and effective manner and completing the communication loop with a review or confirmation of the transfer
Workload Management
The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within the timeframe and parameters available.
Situational Awareness
The ability to develop a birds eye view or a 360 degree view of a situation that may have matured or may still be developing
Application of Procedures
Having knowledge of procedures and the ability to apply them effectively. The ability to deviate from procedures to achieve a higher degree of safety if required.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
Accurately identifies risks and resolves problems. Uses the appropriate decision-making processes.
